Earth Hour

Saturday 28 March 2009

With the clock counting I am waiting for Earth Hour. At time for everyone to show their support in conserving energy. Everyday we are busy with our lives, consuming large amounts of energy, not caring much for the environment. Sure we sometimes throw away our garbage in the bin and show some little support. But is that always enough? I tried to be a better at trying to keep the environment clean this year (can't say I succeeded too much). I will turn off all the lights and electronic devices in my house and also unplug them if possible. Its the least I can do after days of multitasking with using the computer for homework while watching TV and playing music. It is not a hard task and I encourage the readers to also participate today. This year there is a vote for Earth campaign in which "WWF are urging the world to VOTE EARTH and reach the target of 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009." Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth and leaving them on is a vote for global warming.
